Following the sad news of Carrie Fisher’s death, her mother Debbie Reynolds also passed away after suffering a stroke. She was 84.
TMZ reported that Debbie was at her son Todd Fisher’s Beverly Hills home on Wednesday and was busy with Carrie’s funeral arrangements. Later, a 911 call was placed for a medical emergency in her home. Sources close to the family say that Debbie may have suffered a stroke and was rushed at the nearby emergency room. She passed away short after.
“She wanted to be with Carrie,” Todd tells Variety following the announcement.
A couple of days ago, Debbie updated everyone on Carrie’s condition after her heart attack aboard a place from London to Los Angeles.

Debbie was known for her role in Singin’ in the Rain and The Unsinkable Molly Brown where she was nominated for an Oscar. She also received both a SAG lifetime achievement award in January 2015.
