It’s a major #throwback for a ’90s kid to see Dayanara Torres once again in the Philippines. Those who dare admit their age will remember her hosting stint on noontime TV and her onscreen love affair with Aga Muhlach. It also turns out that the beauty queen misses a lot about our country. “I love my years here. I was so young when I finished my pageant and I was so eager to do a lot of things. I was just so thankful and grateful that I was in the Philippines, a country that embraced me completely and opening their hearts, their arms, their homes.”
Upon her arrival, Dayanara entertained some questions that led her down memory lane. “I miss ASAP,” she says.
Other than that, she also misses the food, particularly sinigang and lumpia. For those cravings, we would perhaps recommend Dayanara to hit up Locavore and Abe. If she wishes to expand more of her Filipino cuisine knowledge, she could go for Toyo Eatery.
The beauty queen arrived yesterday sporting a chic all-black ensemble (Take notes for your airport attire!) and looking like she hasn’t aged a day since we last saw her. This year’s Miss Universe will be her third time sitting in as a judge. “It’s great to be a judge…It’s defintely less nerve-wracking because you’re not the one onstage. You’re only judging. But hopefully, we’ll find the right girl for the job,” she says.
