Why does your cola taste better at your favorite fastfood chain?

The small theory you had about Coca-Cola tasting better in McDonald’s isn’t just your imagination working too much. Foodbeast reports on how Spoon University confirmed that Coke is handled better at the fastfood chain, thus making it taste better.

Three things are crucial as to why the beverage stands out in terms of quality and taste. First is how the product is delivered to McDonald’s in stainless steel containers rather than in plastic containers, which is the normal practice. This is why it stays fresh. Second is how the Coke is kept at a close to freezing temperature from the storage as it travels down the dispenser thanks to an insular tube. Maintaining the same temperature as the soda flows down a cup also keeps the carbonation high. Third, it’s all about water filtration. McDonald’s stands by its top quality filtration system which means the water, which is used to make the Coke, is cleaner than others.

Other than proving a suspicion you had as a kid, this information could also justify your next Coke Float order. It still doesn’t excuse you from having too much of the soda on your cheat days, though.
