Why Pia Wurtzbach Likes Kim K’s Fashion Sense

I’m not going to introduce Pia Wurtzbach. You know her, and you love her. Right now, she is enjoying life after being 2015’s Miss Universe with a string of endorsements including Downy. The launch of their new collection is where we got to catch up with her. “The advocacies are still there,” she says to emphasize that it’s not always about commercials. “It’s like being Miss Universe without being the reigning Miss Universe.”

She also confirmed how she’s filming her stint as a judge on Asia’s Next Top Model. “I started filming during Miss Universe and it even happened very close to the coronation night. I had to  make good use of the time I had in Singapore.” As for her love life, she said that she’s just enjoying her time with Marlon Stockinger. She laughed as one reporter asked if they are already thinking of marriage. “We haven’t even talked about it yet.”

It’s exciting to watch what’s next for Pia. As she moves this time without the sash and crown, we asked her more about her personal fashion. Something we’ve been taking screenshots of and taking inspiration from, whether we’ll admit it or not.

What are you favorite heels?

They have to be very comfortable especially when you do a catwalk. Even if it looks good but if they are not comfortable, it will show on your face. You won’t be able to walk properly. I don’t have a particular brand [that’s] my favorite. I do swear by this: Once you break in a heel, once you start using it a lot, it becomes comfortable. Minsan, sa una lang masakit. (Laughs)

Which Hollywood wardrobe do you want as your own?

The girls from Sex and the City. I’m a Samantha.

Who is a beauty queen you look up to fashion-wise?

I think another beauty queen who is very stylish is Ariella Arida. I follow her on Instagram.  I love her fashion style and I love how she knows exactly what fits her body type.

What inspires your fashion sense?

Like everyone else, I get it from Instagram. I click the fashion hashtag or the OOTD hashtag.

Who are your fashion heroes?

I love the fashion of Jennifer Lopez. I love Kim Kardashian nowadays. I try to look at somebody who is curvy as well when I look for ideas because I’m a curvy girl too.

Trend you want to try?

Fringe gowns. I want to try that.

City you love to shop in?

New York has everything in just one street.

Outfit you love on your boyfriend?

He’s very simple. I want him to wear more color. He’s always in black and white.

Outfit you choose when you have nothing to wear?

A dress is always my outfit. I don’t want to choose a top and then jeans and then shoes. A dress is easy, flats or heels, and then you’re ready.

What did you love wearing as a kid?

Rubber shoes. It’s funny now because I have to wear lots of heels.

Describe your personal style

My personal style is ever-changing. Right now, it’s very classic and clean.
