John Mayer isn’t just a skincare guru (remember: don’t love anyone). Last night, he posted his first makeup tutorial and trust us, it’s the best thing ever.
On his Instagram Stories, John showed everyone his version of a smokey eye look. For this, he used Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Road Movie. Why did he have a random Chanel palette in his home? John said that he’s doing a color study for an upcoming project. “I really like Chanel colors,” he explained.
If you think that John was going to mess this up for the sake of comedy, he didn’t and he actually did a decent job for his first try. For the base, he went with the copper color and applied it with the foam brushes that came with the palette.
“This is where guys get it wrong, they go too heavy. Notice how I’m already impressing you with my light touch,” he said. Well, he’s not wrong about that.
Next, he accentuated the eye with the dark gray shade and finished the look off with a tan color in the center. John did a halo eye, you guys! And he was probably going for a drag queen look too? You be the judge.
