This just in: According to Inquirer.net, Imelda Marcos “has been found guilty of seven counts of graft by the Sandinganbayan’s Fifth Division.”

According to the decision made earlier today, Imelda will be facing six years and one month in prison and “up to 11 years for each count.” She was a no-show at her case’s promulgation so she will be given 30 days to give a reason as to why. Aside from this decision, she is no longer allowed to hold any position in public office.

Akbayan Partylist have also released statements upon hearing the decision. Chairperson Emeritus Etta Rosales said, “This legal victory is a two-decade struggle by the brave Filipino people. This is a victory against historical revisionism. This comes at the heels of a time when the Marcos family is desperately trying to revise history and clear their name of the crimes they have committed.”

This is all the information we have so far but watch this space as this story develops.
