Since joining Binibining Pilipinas, Catriona Gray has made it a point to wear pieces that highlight her Filipino heritage. The three stars and a sun ear cuff she wore during the evening gown competition trended on social media for weeks and it became her signature accessory.
Catriona’s currently in Bangkok for Miss Universe 2018 and they’re exploring the country before the pageant on Dec. 17. So far, she’s been wearing all-Filipino designs with elements that showcase our culture. Here’s a list of how she’s doing just that, from the flight going there to their beauty queen activities.
Anthony Ramirez
For her send-off, Catriona wore a green and black pantsuit by Anthony Ramirez. She accessorized with gold jewelry and an updo that Ariana Grande would be proud of.
Noel Crisostomo, Jojo Bragais, and Cali Bag
During one of her first days in Bangkok, Catriona wore an all-white ensemble. Her strapless dress was by Noel Crisostomo, paired with nude Jojo Bragais heels and a circular sampaguita purse by Cali. The outfit was most likely inspired by the dainty white flower, which is the Philippines’ national flower.
Niño Franco
This white polo and red T’boli embroidery skirt look is giving us a nice office look. The skirt is from Niño Franco, which is a brand that combines ethnic and contemporary designs.
LAHI
Catriona dressed down and rocked a denim jacket from LAHI, which is Solenn Heussaff and Mia Arcenas’ collab line. It’s called the Kababayan jacket designed with a jeepney embroidered at the back and vibrant plants surrounding it.
Edgar Madamba and Jewelmer
Another dress-down moment was Catriona in a green Edgar Madamba embroidered top and jeans. For accessories, she wore pearls from Jewelmer.
Erwin Flores and Tessera
While exploring the Royal Palace, Catriona wore a pink Erwin Flores pantsuit and Tessera earrings. The latter is the same brand behind the iconic three stars and a sun ear cuff.
Louis Pangilinan and Mia Arcenas
For the Miss Universe welcome dinner, Catriona wore a violet cocktail dress by Louis Pangilinan and black strappy heels. She accessorized it with dangling earrings and a black clutch by Mia Arcenas.
Jearson Demavivas
Catriona opted for another ethnic-patterned dress during National Thai Day and for her media interviews. The cream dress by Jearsond was made with T’Nalak fabric from South Cotabato. This kinda reminds us of Pocahontas’ outfit in the Disney movie.
Charina Sarte and Aranaz
Yep, we’re still not over the modern Filipiniana dress by Charina Sarte. The off-shoulder piece was dainty and breezy, perfect for Catriona’s trip to the Sanctuary of Truth. Completing the look was an Aranaz weaved purse.
Benjie Panizales
This orange Benjie Panizales dress is a flowy dream. It’s also obvious that Catriona loved swinging the skirt around for photos.
