Catriona Gray’s mom dreamt her daughter won Miss Universe

“Honey, I dreamt of you winning Miss Universe in a red dress,” were the words Catriona Gray’s mother said to her when she was 13. Catriona didn’t think much of it, but imagine her mother’s reaction when she actually took the crown home. Let me just say that it was a lot of celebration and tears.

Catriona’s parents Ian Gray and Normita Ragas Magnayon were both present in Bangkok to fully support their daughter. As soon as the final winner was announcedboth cried tears of joy. We would too, honestly. (Now this is the time you bust out your tissue paper!)

ABS-CBN host Dyan Castillejo also caught this on cam as she was seen congratulating both Ian and Normita for their daughter’s win.

A former GMA News reporter Marvin Tomandao and Dyan was able to chat with Catriona’s parents right after and they’re both so happy for their daughter. “Catriona, you did this. This is you. You’ve worked hard for this. Congratulations,” said Normita.

We’re not gonna lie, we’re crying now too! Congratulations, Catriona!
