I’m sure you’re still on a Miss U high. This year is historic for us. We love how the beauty pageant is stepping up their game too, as Twitter user Nica noted. The questions explored significant issues instead of shallow ones that can easily be answered with cheesy, generic answers.

But the organization isn’t the only one that’s woke. Though many disagree, we actually love how netizens aren’t just dismissive of our win. The deeper questions warrant a deeper answer, and although we think Catriona did amazing, Twitter, particularly, voiced its two cents and we think they’re worth discussing. First up, her stance on the legalization of marijuana.

As to Catriona’s winning answer, while we applaud it, we also think these users have a lot of valid points in saying we can expound a lot more on the issue touched.

Remember, like @MillennialOfMNL stressed, criticizing Catriona’s answer doesn’t mean we don’t support and celebrate her victory. All we’re saying is, Miss Universe is a platform for change, so it’s actually the perfect time to talk about it. We’re sure Catriona would value these insights, too.
