Looks like there’s going to be a Glorious sequel. But, if you were a huge fan of Angel Aquino and Tony Labrusca’s chemistry in the film, here’s some slightly sad news for you.
Bandera interviewed Dreamscape head Deo Endrinal and he admitted that they’re already in talks with director Connie Macatuno. “Hindi ko alam kung anong kuwento, pero alam ko sequel,” (I don’t know the story yet, but I know it’s a sequel) he said. But he also can’t assure that Angel and Tony will reunite for the upcoming movie. “Not sure, aalamin ko pa kay direk.” (Not sure, I’ll ask the director.)
If you’ve seen Glorious, then you’ll know that the ending is the couple having a baby together. (Woops, spoiler!) So it only makes sense for them to have a sequel to show what their family life is like.
However, there’s also a gray line because Tony still has problems with his citizenship which was brought up after arguing with immigration officers. The Intelligence Division of the Bureau of Immigration shared recently that they’re looking to deport the actor “for working without a permit.” Though Tony is reportedly already filing a petition for recognition as a Filipino citizen, so maybe he can pull through before shooting Glorious again.
