BLACKPINK fans caused a huge commotion at the airport last night

It’s true, fandoms can get crazy but K-pop fans are another level. I’m sure you’ve seen the packed stadiums and crying groups of people at meet and greets. To an extent, I understand where the emotions of meeting your idols come from. However, what you do with those emotions is key. Last night, K-pop group BLACKPINK arrived in Manila for tonight’s concert. Not surprisingly, fans flocked to the airport and it wasn’t a pretty sight.

People tried to run to see them, invading their personal space and privacy. It was complete and utter chaos. Some even climbed barricades and a car. The videos look insane. Please try to spot someone’s shoe left on the ground.

This whole thing is wrong on so many levels. First, the fans put the group and themselves in danger. Why is it so hard for people to understand boundaries? I get it, you’re excited but please channel that better. Second, management and security should have handled the situation better. They should have been able to keep the fans in line but they didn’t.

For those who are attending the concert tonight, you better hope this isn’t the last time BLACKPINK makes their way to Manila.
