Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek has been with the show since 1984 and has been a household name ever since. Earlier today, he shared that he’s been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Alex announced this in a video posted on Jeopardy!‘s social media accounts, saying that “normally the prognosis for [his cancer] is not very encouraging.” But he’s hopeful that he will fight this disease and will continue to keep working. “I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”

He also joked that he’ll beat cancer because he has another three years to host Jeopardy!. Motivating words.
