The coolest kids in the block are back! Netflix dropped the new trailer for Stranger Things 3 and it is epic.
Whereas the previous teaser was set on New Year’s Eve, the new one shows the season will actually be dominantly set in the summer of 1985.
The theme seems to focus on how the Stranger Things squad is growing up. The relationships between the characters are clearly evolving. Eleven and Max seem to have become best friends—riding the bus together, and hanging out at the mall.
They were both dressed in Madonna-inspired looks at one point. Because it’s not the ’80s if they don’t dress in matching garb for a glamour shot—the true test of friendship.
Also, we see Dustin and Steve are still pals. And Steve looks like he will find a new girlfriend this season. We already know he’s working at an ice cream shop (his uniform is everything). It seems he and his coworker, Robin (Maya Hawke), are getting along really well.
Meanwhile, Nancy and Jonathan are still together, Lucas and Max still seem to be an item, and Mike and Eleven’s sweet kiss indicate their relationship is still going strong.
Oh yeah, and there are more terrifying monsters from the Upside Down threatening to destroy their summer and test their friendships. Typical coming-of-age stuff, really.
