No woman is safe from the hardships of getting their period. Not even Elle Fanning, who reportedly fainted during a Cannes Film Festival dinner.
The 21-year-old actress, who was part of the festival’s jury, reportedly fell off her chair. According to Variety, her older sister, Dakota Fanning immediately rushed to her side. Colin Firth, who was sitting nearby, helped Elle get back up.
The Fanning sisters were later escorted out of the event so Elle could get medical attention. She later posted on Instagram that she’s okay, and her fainting spell was caused by her dress being too tight during her “time of the month.”
Elle was wearing a vintage 1950’s Prada gown at the festival. It was beige with embroidered wilted flowers along the skirt. You could also see that it had a corseted waist, which could have been the culprit.
The lesson here is to not wear anything too constricting when you’re not feeling 100 percent. Also, periods suck.
