If you’re one of those who enjoyed the musical thriller, Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, prepare your wallets because Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group’s Sweeney Todd in Manila is almost here.

Joining them are multi-awarded recording artist and musical theater performer Ima Castro, who will play the Beggar Woman, and internationally-renowned baritone Andrew Fernando, who will be playing Judge Turpin.
The Stephen Sondheim/Hugh Wheeler masterpiece “has become a bloody, worldwide success since being awarded eight Tony Awards (including Best Musical) for its Broadway premiere, as well as the Oliver Award for Best New Musical,” Broadway World wrote. “The Broadway revival went on to win two more Tony Awards taking its total up to 10 Tony Awards. 2019 also marks the 40th anniversary of the musical, having first opened on Broadway in 1979.”
Directed by Bobby Garcia, Sweeney Todd in Manila marks Atlantis’ final offering for its 20th-anniversary season. Fans on Twitter are obviously excited.

It’s set to open at the Theatre at Solaire in October. Meanwhile, Lea announced that tickets will go on-sale soon, so watch out for that!
