Rihanna is having a great year. Just after her partnership with LVMH was officially announced, making her the first Black woman to lead a fashion house with the company, she’s now been named the world’s richest female musician too.
In the report by Forbes, her worth was listed at $600 million, putting her ahead of Madonna ($570 million), Celine Dion ($450 million) and Beyoncé ($400 million). But her music isn’t the only thing that helped her hit those numbers. In fact, a large part of it came from her fashion and beauty endeavors, particularly, from her Fenty Beauty line, which she launched in 2017. People noted, “In 2018, the brand brought in $570 million in revenue, and the outlet estimates that Fenty is collectively worth more than $3 billion.”
Jefferies research analyst Stephanie Wissink told Forbes,“Not only did [Fenty Beauty] achieve meaningful sales, but it potentially changed the industry permanently.”
With the release of her LVMH line, we can only expect Rih to become even more of a business icon.
Not to worry though, because she hasn’t forgotten about her music. She has since revealed that she’s working on a reggae album, although the project remains untitled and a release date is yet to be announced. We’re on the lookout for it, so make sure to watch this space.
