Mars is in Virgo: Time to get your shit together

By Jacqueline Ariason August 29, 2019

Virgo season is officially in full swing. Those who are born under this zodiac sign are said to be organized, loyal, and perfectionists, which is why other signs will also feel the need to be more efficient during this time. In addition to that, astrologer Lisa Stardust told Bustle that it’s usually a “transformative season,” which will motivate us to look at ourselves more analytically.

But if you’ve been feeling stressed and/or neurotic ever since Virgo season 2019 started, it’s because Mars entered Virgo earlier this month and it basically means you need to get your shit together. Since Mars is associated with courage and impulsiveness, and Virgo is known organization and practicality, it’s a great time for you to be more efficient in what you’re doing and finish tasks you’ve been putting off.

There are also downsides to this. LiveAbout explained that people who are born while Mars is in Virgo are known to strive for perfection and sacrificing their well-being. “You’re high strung and can have a lot of physical nervousness that you seek to release in different ways, and one is staying busy. If your frustration builds, you become hyper-critical of yourself and others,” the site said.

That said, it’s also possible for other signs to feel this energy even after Virgo season. For those who are really going through it at work and your personal life, here’s what you can do to survive this planetary transit.

Breathe and manage your tasks

If you’re someone who tends to get frazzled by so many tasks happening all at once, we suggest to take a seat and breathe for a few seconds. Remember: Virgo is an analytical sign, which should encourage you to hone your problem-solving and time management skills. Lisa Stardust tells Refinery29, “We’ll be drawn to finding the root of the problem with logic. We will all want to examine evidence and assess situations with a clear mind.”

Multitasking isn’t bad

Do you want to get things done faster? This is the perfect time to multitask according to Tarot.com. “While Mars moves through Virgo, we’re able to figure out where to cut the fat in our work habits so that we can get things done as quickly as possible,” the site said. Just don’t force yourself to do this when you’re not able, okay?

Take in criticism and use it to your advantage

Astrology.com noted that while Mars is in Virgo, everyone is extra critical of other people and themselves. It’s going to be common for people to point out what’s wrong with someone’s work, and you’re going to notice how much they’re nitpicking, which sucks. But it’s not always a bad thing because “if taken constructively, this criticism can be beneficial; sometimes becoming aware of what’s not working and looking for new ways of doing things can lead to fantastic results.”

Be mindful of your words

Because of the critical nature of this season, some might be more defensive than usual. Astrology.com warned that you might tend to use your “verbal weapons,” like being sarcastic to the people around you, because you’re being overly critical of how other people are treating you. This can be misconstrued as rudeness and insensitivity, so make sure you analyze the situation first before you open your mouth.

Pursue your goals and learn something new

These goals could be work-related (a raise or finishing an important presentation), learning a new skill, or meeting new people. Astrologer Leona Moon told Bustle that this Virgo season will show you a clear path toward achieving your goals. “We’re approaching life with a no-nonsense type of attitude and small gestures speak volumes,” she advised. So if you’ve been holding back, this is the perfect time to take risks.

Accept the fact you can’t change someone

Yes, sis, this is the sign you’ve been waiting for. According to YourTango, this is the right season to let go of the idea that you can fix or change a person. If Mars in Virgo is telling us to set definitive goals and finish tasks in our work lives, it’s also time to make decisions regarding your love life. Remember that while certain relationships motivate us and open more doors for us, you should also observe if your partner is holding you back from success because this isn’t the right time for you to focus on all their problems.
