Only Billy Porter can rock a suit and hat embellished with crystals.
The “Pose” star wore a custom Michael Kors Couture piece at the 2019 Emmy Awards red carpet. According to Refinery29, the jacket had 51,510 mini crystals while the pants had 79,200—that’s already over 130,000. His hat by Stephen Jones also had a band of crystals.
Billy’s stylist, Sam Ratelle told “The Hollywood Reporter” that he wanted to do “a little ’70s disco throwback moment” for the actor’s Emmys look. “It is very edgy, very on the pulse. We’re excited. It is a classic silhouette yet heightened,” Sam said.
It’s a fitting outfit choice since Billy is the first openly gay Black man to be nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. “Pose” is also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series.
Now he can add this suit to his collection of #extra red carpet lewks. Keep slaying, Billy!
