You should see her in a crown, indeed. With five wins, Billie Eilish is the most awarded artist in this year’s Grammys. And at 18, she’s also the youngest singer to win all top awards.
Eilish won Record and Song of the Year (“Bad Guy”), Album of the Year (“When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”), Best New Artist, and Best Pop Vocal Album. She beat out other frontrunners such as Lizzo and Lil Nas X, who both won their first Grammys as well.
In one her acceptance speeches, Eilish took the opportunity to thank her fans for supporting her. “Mainly I think the fans deserve everything. I feel like they are not talked about enough tonight because they are the reason any of us are here at all.”
The singer debuted in 2017 when she came out with her first EP “Don’t Smile At Me” which was co-produced by her brother Finneas. “When We All Fall Asleep,” which was released in 2019, was also a collaboration with Finneas.
“I wasn’t expecting anything. We just made this album that we liked. I can’t even stress this enough, we didn’t try to make it for any sort of… We didn’t mean for it to win a Grammy. We made an album that we loved and we wanted to make, and that was kind of our only goal,” Eilish said in a post-Grammys interview. “This was just unreal.”
