My ASMR boyfriends are all the love and affection I need

All day every day, I’m a strong independent woman who normally doesn’t need affection. But I’ll share a secret—almost seven months into this quarantine, it’s been hard.

This social isolation has been challenging enough to make me feel ~lonely~ sometimes (cue crying into my chocolates), but it’s been especially tough on my single friends who tell me that their “single-ness” has never been more felt.

But rest assured, I hear you and, like always, I got your back. Let me introduce to you the wonderful world of ASMR boyfriends. If you’re a first-time listener, ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is the term for the tingling sensations you get at the back of your head or down your spine when you listen to stimulating videos like whispers into the microphone or the sound of water swishing. It’s hyper-realistic and the tingles often leave you feeling content and comfortable, which is why it quickly gained popularity for sleep and relaxation sessions.

Now I know what you’re thinking, how does ASMR and a boyfriend work together? Well, because of the increasing popularity of ASMR videos, creators have branched out into other genres, including the boyfriend experience. Helping you to ease that spike of loneliness when it hits instead of just crying into your chocolates like I do.

These ASMR boyfriends come in different personalities and give you all the feels without all the fuss of a real partner. You could be with your adorkable SO living the domestic life or taking a stroll with your vampire lover—it’s entirely up to you, the world is your oyster boyfriend.  And as a certified ASMR boyfriend connoisseur, here are some of my favorites to help you get started.

The lullaby boyfriend

If you’re having trouble sleeping (say, when loneliness hits at 2 a.m.), then a lullaby boyfriend could be the one for you. These ASMR boyfriends provide sleep aid for those who can’t seem to close their eyes for longer than 10 minutes. You can choose between simply listening to a video of your boyfriend breathing or have him calmly speak to you until you enter dreamland.

Weeabro’s video provides the perfect mix of both so you can feel all calm and warm as you try to drift into sleep.

The reassuring boyfriend

When you’re feeling down or need a little more warmth than usual, the reassuring boyfriend may be exactly what you need. These boyfriends try to give comfort and validation. In this video, DennisASMR attempts to console you by “listening” to your problems and taking the time to give calming ASMR triggers.

The motivational boyfriend

Sometimes when we’re stuck in a rut for school or work, all we need is a little boost to help us get back on track. Enter the motivational boyfriend. For those of you who find that positive words and encouragement help to pick up the pace again, CardlinAudio gives you a healthy dose of both.

In this video, CardlinAudio helps you out of your creative mindblock by easing your insecurities and cheering you on.

The adventure boyfriend

This ASMR boyfriend goes out to the ones who miss a little adventure. ForTheDreamers ASMR takes you to a fantasy world by roleplaying as a fairy boy you slowly fall in love with. I like to think of it as the fairy boy version of Peter Pan. If you’ve ever dreamed of being called “cutie” by an otherworldly being, prepare to burst into flames watching this video.

The sick-day boyfriend

If you want to feel that extra quality care while you’re sick, this ASMR boyfriend will nurse you back to health. These boyfriends help ease the stress of sickness by caring for you and smothering you with affection (without all the fear of infecting them). Because of its hyper-realistic sound, this Moonlight Audio’s ASMR feels just like a hug and a warm pat on the head.

The world of ASMR Boyfriends is an odd but interesting one. Whichever boyfriend you pick, we hope you dive in and go nuts. Live your best life in whatever form that takes, ASMR or not.
