Isabelle Daza’s Messy Hair Look Made Us Want to Forgo Our Combs

One of the best things about summer is that the messy hair look is more popular than usual. Apart from the loose buns and ponytails, we also see more beach waves. A popular example was Isabelle Daza‘s recent Instagram post, which was a maternity shot where she sported wavy locks. Alex Gonzaga also jokingly told her, “Sana nagsuklay ka.” (You could’ve brushed your hair.) Isabelle kept the banter up and said, “It’s the messy look. But you wouldn’t understand.”

This exchange got a lot of negative reactions from netizens because they thought Isabelle and Alex were getting catty. The two then posted Instagram Stories to prove that they’re indeed friends.

While they’ve cleared things up, Isabelle’s messy hairstyle is now on everyone’s radar. I mean, the post now has over 95,000 likes on Instagram so we’re guessing that people love the look just as much.

Recent runways showed different variations of messy hairstyles. Alberta Ferretti showed models with casual ponytails with strands of hair on the models’ faces. Meanwhile, Chanel made messy buns big again during Paris Fashion Week.

Refinery29 also noted that mermaid waves are the new, updated version of beach waves. Kim Kardashian and Demi Lovato were spotted sporting this hairstyle.

If you think that the messy look isn’t work-appropriate, just look at Kim Jones’ wavy bob when she wore a pink pantsuit. Even actress Rashida Jones looked good with a similar hairstyle and outfit when she appeared in the “Nice For What” music video.

Whether you’re letting your hair down or going for an updo, this look is easy to achieve. You can simply forgo the comb or create curls with an iron and texturizer. You can also follow hairstylist Syd Hayes‘ advice to add barrettes and gold bobby pins to upgrade your look. Feel free to rock your waves for the whole summer—or during any season!
