Justin and Hailey Bieber have a pretty low-key relationship but they shocked everyone last night. Vogue announced that the newlyweds were the cover stars for their March issue. You’ve probably already seen some of the photos floating around social media.
In the interview, the couple talked about their marriage and how their relationship started. They also gave details on how they’re trying to grow together. They first met in 2009 but only got close a few years later when they spotted each other at Hillsong services. Hailey said, “One day Justin walked into Hillsong and was like, ‘Hey, you got older.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, what’s up?’ Over time he became my best guy friend.”
They eventually started dating for a brief time three years ago but that did not end well. “Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and work through,” Hailey shared. “Fizzled would not be the right word—it was more like a very dramatic excommunication. There was a period where is I walked into a room, he would walk out.” This all changed in June of last year. They were both at the same conference at the time. “By then we were past the drama. I just gave him a hug. By the end of the conference, he was like, ‘We’re not going to be friends.’ I was like, ‘We’re not?’” According to Vogue, “within a month, he had slipped an enormous oval-shaped diamond ring on her finger.”
Clearly, their relationship isn’t easy but that’s totally fine. Sure, to some extent some aspects should be easy breezy but it definitely does take a lot of work.
“We’re really young, and that’s a scary aspect. We’re going to change a lot. But we’re committed to growing together and supporting each other in those changes. That’s how I look at it. At the end of the day, too, he’s my best friend. I never get sick of him,” Hailey said. To that Justin replied, “And you’re my baby boo.”
