Seph Bagasao, Renz Reyes, and Ched Studio showcased their collection for SS19

bench fashion week

Summer is here and what better way to celebrate the season than with a full-on fashion show. Bench Fashion Week SS19 has officially started and last night’s show was jam-packed. Aside from fast fashion brands, we were also treated to some looks by local designers.

First up was Seph Bagasao with his “BLUR” Collection. Comprised of 12 looks, it was “an homage to femininity in all its form.” Now, I can get with that.

Models walked down the runway in clothing I could see every type of woman wearing. There were coats with contrast stitching, trousers with patches of different fabric, and frayed or fringe edges everywhere.

For accessories, we spotted bags from The Fore.

Next up was Renz Reyes with a color palette of earthy tones. My favorite look would have to be the two-piece denim outfit featuring a jacket and pants. It had different washes of denim exposed pockets, and also some frayed edges.

There was also an all-white ensemble that I could picture myself wearing to a party. The trousers had a similar design to the blue denims, while the top had tie details all over it.

Overall, his collection showed a lot of techniques meshed together along with the use of different textiles, and silhouettes.

Ched Studio was also present and his collection was “inspired by utility and streets.”

You could definitely see a common thread in each look as it was presented down the runway. There were leather-like coats and trousers, pleated and draped dresses, and summer colors like yellow and blue.

Aside from the coats, everything looked so breezy and comfortable, ideal for the weather.

There was also a special collaboration between Bench and Rafe New York.

One print was the star of the collection and it was gumamela camo in blue and yellow, very 2000s summer if you ask me.

The clothes he presented were very versatile with button up tops and shorts, yet trendy featuring belt bags and denim bomber jackets.
