This long weekend is the perfect time to visit the spa

At this point, I know most of us are exhausted. Most of us are overworked, dealing with personal things, or simply just tired of all the noise. I’m sure that those of us who don’t get enough time to relax often daydream about getting a massage or facial treatments. Don’t worry, I daydream about it, too. Like all the time. Sometimes, we just need to take a break to recharge our minds and bodies—and we don’t have to feel guilty about it.

Sometimes I think I don’t deserve to have a break because there’s always that crippling feeling that tells me I have to work—that there are things I need to finish, and things I have to start working on. We don’t realize that it’s okay to just pause for a bit and let our minds rest. In doing that, our productivity can actually increase. In fact, studies show that frequent visits to the spa can result in better sleep, fewer sick days, reduced absenteeism, and less frequent hospitalizations.

Allow yourself to unwind, especially this long weekend, and visit these spas in Metro Manila:

QiWellness Spa

If your over-fatigued body needs some recharging, this spa is the perfect place to go. Hidden along the busy streets of Makati, this spa merges traditional Eastern and Western therapy techniques. They offer three treatments: Qitranquility for those who prefer gentle strokes, Qivitality for a more intense massage, and Qiharmony for those who need a reflexology session. Located at The Picasso, Salcedo Village, Makati City.

Nüwa Spa

NÜWA Spa was inspired by the Chinese goddess Nüwa of ancient mythology. Their facilities include a spacious dressing area, showers and baths, and an indoor Jacuzzi. They also have an aqua retreat that features a vitality pool, aroma steam, and an outdoor pool. Aside from their exquisite facilities, they offer personalized spa journeys to those who want to achieve harmony for the mind, body, and spirit. Located at 1/L NÜWA Hotel, City of Dreams Manila, Aseana Avenue corner Roxas Boulevard, Entertainment City, Parañaque City.

Breeze Oriental Spa & Massage

Breeze therapists are trained by experts from China, which can deliver the ultimate relaxation. With their aim to  “help clients with stress and pain management,” their services, especially their Detoxifying Oil Massage might be the best for working people. Located at 9th Avenue, corner 31st Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Marina Bay Spa and Lifestyle Club

This spa offers the best of both worlds: a fitness and wellness center. Overlooking Manila Bay, this spa has 20 private massage rooms with top-notch amenities, like an infinity pool, gym, hot stone baths, and steam rooms, so you’ll definitely enjoy your me-time. Located at Esplanade Seaside Terminal,  Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

If you want a spa that is completely private, this might be the best choice. It only has a few rooms, with soaking tubs, sauna and steam facilities. Purifying Facial is their signature treatment, which uses a non-harsh scrub. They also offer traditional hilot. They have a wide selection of products sourced from an all-natural British brand called Espa. Located at Conrad Manila, Seaside Boulevard, Pasay City.

Indulge in a luxurious spa treatment in Okada’s retreat spa. The treatments are personalized, and right after your session, you may head to the Wave Meditation Chamber which offers “meditative experience through chromotherapy and high-power LED light projection.” The spa also boasts a retreat pool that helps you destress. Located at Okada Manila, New Seaside Drive, Parañaque City.
