Kim Chiu’s “Bawal Lumabas” merch is up for grabs to fund coronavirus relief

After her “Bawal Lumabas” statement turned to a viral remix (and then an official single), Kim Chiu announced on her YouTube channel on May 25 that she will be selling #BawalLumabas merchandise to raise funds for coronavirus relief efforts in the Philippines.

While still on a trial phase at the moment, Chiu and her team released a limited stock of T-shirts which will be sold at P295 each. The funds raised will go to food packages for families in need during quarantine. But if the project is successful, Chiu intends to donate the proceeds to Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis’ “Shop and Share” project to support mass testing.

Chiu thanked those who made fun of her statement and commended the different renditions of “Bawal Lumabas.”

“Hindi sa pagkakitaan ko pero marami sa ating mga kababayan ngayon na hindi pa talaga pwede lumabas at ilang buwan na silang di lumalabas so I’ve decided na gumawa ng merchandise (…) so sumisilip ako ng pag-asa na one day pwede na tayong lumabas. This is a very hard moment na mayroon tayo ngayon kaya magtulungan tayo,” Chiu said in her YouTube video.

The video also featured DJ Loonyo who the actress asked to create dance moves for the track. So if you want to support her project aside from buying the merchandise, you can dance along to the song to raise awareness.
