Here’s a PSA from Fenty Skin and Rihanna—skincare has no gender

I can hardly remember the time before Rihanna became a certified beauty mogul. Though I’m still part of the legions of fans still holding out hope for another studio album release (the last one was “Anti” in 2016), I find it equally satisfying to watch her continue to cement her place as one of the freshest voices in the beauty industry. This week in Fenty land,  our queen broke the news on the launch of a new line of products and gave out this PSA: skincare has no gender.

Earlier today Fenty Skin’s Instagram account posted a screenshot of a Twitter exchange between Rihanna and a fan. The fan tweeted that he’ll change his middle name to Robyn if the star ever decides to release a skincare line for men. Although the tweet was published in 2017, the star finally graced them with this response: “Whoever told you that skincare has gender, LIED to you. Hi, Robyn!” She’s out here ending the gender binary too? Legend behavior.

If this is the first you’ve heard of the upcoming Fenty Skin product launch, don’t worry. You’re not too late to the party. Rihanna dropped the brand’s first teaser on July 15. In the video, we see her barefaced and trying on some of the products in a bathroom. Not much has been revealed about them but some of the goodies are in a color familiar to fans of her beauty line palettes.
