Happy International Youth Day, folks! Class is officially in session at “Quarantine University” with “Homeroom Adviser” Atty. Chel Diokno.
On Aug. 12, Diokno tweeted that he’ll be celebrating International Youth Day by having a virtual class on his Facebook page at his “Quarantine University” at 8 p.m.
Youth Day Celebration na natin on FB Live mamaya kasama sina @kakiep83, @macoydubs1, @6foot1badbitch, at @heyhersheyy! Magche-check ako ng attendance sa https://t.co/GRVVnJoYq7 at 8PM. Kitakits! pic.twitter.com/4wOTedFWNa

Joining him as our “classmates” are Kakie Pangilinan, Hershy Neri, Macoy Dubs and Dora Lulab.
Back in 1999, the United Nations General Assembly declared Aug. 12 as the International Youth Day “to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal and equitable engagement.” With this year’s theme being “Youth Engagement in Global Action,” we can’t wait to see what Diokno and our “classmates” will be bringing to the table.
This class’ lineup has been vocal online about the multiple issues that’ve been happening this year such as the pandemic and the government’s response to it. From their ingenious TikTok videos to witty Twitter clapbacks, the internet’s coolest kids are coming together to celebrate the voice of the youth with “Homeroom Adviser” Diokno (because every classroom with this much energy will need a moderator).
Catch today’s class later at 8 p.m. on Diokno’s Facebook page. Don’t be late!
