After the finale of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” aired on Netflix, a lot of us K-drama fans have been on the lookout for the next series to obsess over. South Korean network TVN teases a show that might just be the perfect thing to sate our appetite. On Aug. 12, they shared a photo from a script reading session for the upcoming drama ‘Tale of Gumiho.”

The urban fantasy romance is centered on nine-tailed fox Yi Yeon, played by Lee Dong-wook a.k.a. the Grim Reaper from “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” who cleanses human spirits while also creating havoc. He meets television producer Nam Ji-ah, portrayed by Jo Bo-ah from “Forest,” who is working on a show featuring urban myths and will stop at nothing to get a good story. Kim Bum from “Boys Over Flowers” is Yi Yeon’s stepbrother Yi Rang who seduces people with the promise of granting them a wish for which they pay a hefty price.
Lee Dong-wook shared a teaser trailer on his Instagram and from the looks of it, the show might have a bit of a dark vibe. If you’ve watched Lee on psychological thriller “Strangers from Hell,” you’d know that he can pull off scary and mysterious.

The show will mark Kim’s return to the small screen after finishing his military service back in March. According to Soompi, the producers of the drama shared, “Kim Bum, who is returning to the small screen after four years, will be making a shocking transformation through his acting in ‘Tale of the Nine Tailed.’ As Kim Bum possesses both tenderness and strength amongst his charms, please look forward to his portrayal of the gumiho Yi Rang.”
It would be interesting see Kim take on his role since most of us remember him as a school heartthrob on BOF. “Tale of Gumiho” is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2020 and we’re definitely excited.
