jojo siwa coming out tiktok

Since last year, some members of the LGBTQIA+ community have spoken about their shared experience of wanting to come out during the pandemic. (Been there.) Today, another celebrity is joining the list of famous people (such as our king, Elliot Page) who have done exactly that—or at least that’s what the internet is claiming right now. Guess who.

Hours ago, “Dance Moms” and Nickelodeon star Jojo Siwa posted a TikTok that people are calling her coming out video. In it, she lipsyncs to the Lady Gaga seminal classic “Born This Way” in her room while rainbow lights are on. The lines she picked are in the stanza that starts with “No matter gay, straight, or bi / Lesbian, transgendered life / I’m on the right track baby, / I was born to survive.” If you’re a bit confused as to why that fueled speculations about her coming out as LGBTQIA+, you are not alone. (I mean, come on. Everybody loves “Born This Way” and rainbows are so on-brand for Jojo Siwa.)

Part of the reason a lot of people are considering it a possibility (and not just the usual antics of a so-called gay icon) is the number of congratulations and support she’s received from other personalities in the comments section. Said James Charles, “I’m so happy for you.” while Bretman Rock said “Happy for you, Jojo 🌈”✨”

Apart from her latest TikTok, fans have been speculating that she similarly dropped a hint when she joined Disney alum Kent Boyd’s TikTok filmed at a house dedicated to LGBTQIA+ creators, with the caption “Now you’re one of us.” I’m personally still on the fence about calling it official but you do you, girl.

The internet is currently split on the matter since Jojo Siwa has yet to respond to the speculations. A number of netizens are reminding others that while the news is exciting (Siwa has a lot of young fans), we shouldn’t be using labels when referring to her until she confirms it and that you don’t have to be gay to like rainbows or support LGBTQIA+ rights.

One netizen jokes, “Everyone [is] saying [that] Jojo Siwa came out [because] she has rainbow lights and is singing to [“Born This Way”] 😭😭  That doesn’t mean [she’s] coming out, it could be a 2012 Kibum cosplay.”

Another tweeted, “The way Jojo Siwa doesn’t have to buy any [LGBTQIA+] rainbow merch [because] she already has every rainbow product imaginable, she’s a futuristic budgeting queen.”

Whether or not the speculations are true, we’re glad that she’s openly supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. Hit us up if you’re looking for more Lady Gaga playlists, queen.
