Filipino erotica artists don’t get as much of the love they deserve. With sex positivity still a work in progress in the country, it’s hard to find targeted spicy art. Luckily, Komiket is here to end our dry spell with its upcoming erotic art and comic anthology titled “Rurok.” All it needs now is a roster of artists willing to give the people what they want.
“There is no reason to be ashamed. Sexual desires are primal, universal, human emotions. It’s as natural as breathing in and out. Whether it’s what you love to give, or to receive, the aim is for artists, comics creators, and illustrators to explore the psychology of Filipino erotica through this comics and art anthology,” wrote Komiket. “Take readers on an erotic journey, and let’s meet—sa RUROK ng kaligayahan.”
Want to join? Each comic must be two to 24 pages long. Non-comic single page illustrations or full spread artworks can also be submitted. You can find the full list of production requirements and boundaries on the announcement. Deadline for submissions is on July 1 and entries must be sent to PICOF via email.
