If there’s anything that stresses people out more than deciding who their next president will be, it’s finding out who the religious sect Iglesia Ni Cristo will vote for as a whole. Why, you ask? Because, as a lot of people would say, their vote might determine who will win in the elections.
And true enough, everyone was abuzz yesterday when the sect announced their bets which include Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bongbong Marcos.
The announcement was made last night by INC executive minister Eduardo Manalo through a circular read during their weekly worship service, saying that the decision was made “based on the teachings in the Bible that were taught to us even before we were accepted as members of the Church of Christ.”
INC is known for doing a bloc-vote every elections, and candidates often vie for that endorsement as their numbers estimate to around 2.25 million both here and abroad.
Meanwhile, they’ve also revealed their senatorial bets which include Franklin Drilon, Richard Gordon, Francis Tolentino, Panfilo Lacson, Tito Sotto, and even Manny Pacquiao.
However, does this mean that whoever they choose will ultimately win the election? Well, it’s still too early to say. But you can’t deny that those numbers are pretty big, don’t you think?
