Here’s Why Leni Robredo Wore Black to Her Proclamation

We are all so used to seeing Leni Robredo wear yellow during campaign season, so it’s refreshing to see her opt for a different color palette for her proclamation yesterday. But is there a deeper reason behind ditching yellow and going for black for the occasion? We think not.

“Dadalawa lang [ang yellow dress ko]. Kaya kapag pumapasok talaga ako sa Kongreso, bihira talaga akong nakadilaw kasi konti yung pagpipilian (I only have two yellow dresses. So when I enter the Congress, you won’t see me wear yellow as often as I only have a few options),” she shares with Inquirer.

And also, the new Vice President likes to wear pieces that complement her skin tone and not something that would highlight or emphasize it. “Maitim kasi ako, kaya lumalayo ako sa mga kulay na lalo akong nagpapaitim (I have a dark skin tone so I stay away from colors that make me look darker),” she said.

Her yellow dresses might just be in the laundry so don’t fret as there’s no political reason behind it. She’s just like every other woman who tries to figure out what to wear before she heads out to work.
