Imagine this: You got all your gifts for your family, workmates, and significant others. All you need to do now is to gift-wrap everything before Christmas―which is already next week, by the way. But with time constraints and workloads to take care of, how will you manage to wrap them nicely and quickly?
No, you don’t have to pull up a video of Martha Stewart or Oprah on how to do an artsy bow or a gleaming topper. We asked crafts expert Vicky Velasco for some last-minute tips to get us through the holidays.
Materials
Printed gift wrappers
Boxes
Plain and printed ribbons
Scissors
Tape
Colored paper
Greeting cards
No wrapping needed
1. Grab a small plain box and ribbons of your choice. Vicky suggests that you get colors that match or are complementary like red and gold or red and white.
2. Start tying the ribbons one by one on the box. Start with the thickest one down to the thinnest, and make sure that the ribbons are piled on nicely.
3. Cut the excess ribbon and use the small strands to tie a greeting card on top.
Plain ribbon on plain wrapper
1. Pick a printed wrapper and a complementing ribbon. For example, if the wrapper has hints of red on it, then choose a plain red ribbon.
2. Wrap your present and tie a bow on the box.
3. Cut the excess ribbon.
4. For the card, you can either tie it or stick a simple paper flower on it.
Print on print
1. Choose a printed wrapper and ribbon. Vicky says to make sure that one print is bolder than the other.
2. Wrap the present and tie the printed ribbon on one section.
3. Pick out a plain ribbon with a matching color and layer it on top of the printed one. Cut the excess ribbon after.
4. Place a greeting card on top. Adding a paper flower is optional.
