A good quality leather bag is a must-have in anyone’s closet but lately I’ve seen a new trend all over social media. Whether at the beach or on a trip abroad, everyone is rocking a woven bag. From bucket bags to tote bags, these woven alternatives are a great accessory to any outfit. With embellishments like embroidery, beads, pom-poms, and colorful straps, I can see why people are falling in love with these bags.
There are many types of woven bags you can choose from so we’ve put together a list of brands you can check out to get you started.
The mother-daughter trio of the brand, Becky, Amina, and Rosanna, add a modern touch to traditional Filipino craftsmanship. Their woven bags range from tote bags with beaded details to clutches embroidered with flowers. The Catalina bucket bag is great for traveling. You can throw everything you need in it as well transition from evening to night.
With a portion of the proceeds donated to Right Start Foundation, this local brand offers items that are carefully designed and handmade. Their Kahun Basket in smoke is made of buri leaves and has an eyelet woven lid. Pair it with their Kolhapuri Camel Slides and you’re ready for a garden party.

Ádemar by Lissa Kahayon and Joanna Ponce sells bag, hats, and other accessories on Instagram and at Bloggers United. Their woven bags come in unique shapes, my favorite being the Ella handbag. It had rounded edges, woven feet, and a round handle.
Part of the brand’s goal is, “To create a wardrobe full of magic, one that glows with each accessory. To create a lifestyle, that’s a visual feast, effortlessly.” One look at their collection and you can see they have pushed through with their promises. The Babe is made of 100 percent straw and shaped like a pig aka the cutest bag we have ever seen.
February Lifestyle by Kyz Uy offers handmade bags made of soft Egyptian leather and Japanese straw. They have sling and tote bags but the quirkiest of them all is the In Your Face sling bag. This circular bag is made of Japanese straw, wooden beads, and Philippine Raffia. The main design is a woman’s face with red lips and long eyelashes.
From Blank has different woven styles to choose from. They have circular sling bags and chunky baskets that you can use for any occasion. Bu they also put a new spin on fringe with their La Plancha bag. It has leather straps and a zip closure, the perfect bag for the beach.
