In a few hours, we’ll be hearing Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s second SONA. It’s also another year of seeing designer pieces filling the House of Representatives’ red carpet.
This year, the dress theme is reportedly “Muslim-inspired.” According to some designers, they’ll be incorporating Maranao patterns, malong, pintados, and other Mindanao-inspired prints. (Let’s just hope we don’t have to see any sign of cultural appropriation. Just saying.)
Which designers will we expect later? Inquirer.net revealed on Twitter that there will be pieces from Cary Santiago, Ivarluski Aseron, Randy Ortiz, JC Buendia, Maureen Disini, Rajo Laurel, and Boom Sason. As for the other designers, we’ll have to see later.
