In case you missed it, we teamed up with Mac Cosmetics to cover a few shows at London Fashion Week Spring 2018. Blogger Dian Serranilla went backstage at Phoebe English, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, and Peter Pilotto to get a glimpse of the collections and the makeup looks. Each show had its own inspiration and execution from pastel colors to gray hues. If you want to achieve these looks at home, you can shop the products below.
Phoebe English + Chromacake
Phoebe English’s collection was a mix of black and white pieces with textured and layered details. The clothes featured tulle, mesh, and hand-knotted fabric. To match the monochromatic clothing, the models sported gray makeup. The inspiration behind the look is gray clouds as seen on the exaggerated gray color surrounding their eyes. For this first look, you can use Mac’s Choromacake in black and white. This product is activated with water and is great for body painting. You can make this more wearable by creating a smokey with their other colors, you can also drag the color down to your lower lash line for a more dramatic look.
Preen by Thornton Bregazzi + Lip Mix
Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi’s collection was composed of silk camisoles, slips, white layered pieces, and floral prints. Justin told Vogue, “We continually want to give our daughters the message that they can have the future that want… They can do what they want, wear whatever they want, and nothing can alter the power of who they are.”
For the models, Mac went for dewy skin with color on the lids and lips. If you want to achieve the same lip color seen on the runway, you can use Mac’s Lip Mix. These are pigmented cream that you can mix to customize your own lip color. You can let your creativity take over and choose from their 13 shades like dark nude and cyan.
Peter Pilotto + Trend Forecast Spring 18/Eye
Peter Pilotto’s pieces were a pastel lover’s paradise. The clothes shown on the runway were a combination of stripes, jungle prints, satin, and lace. The colors used were mint, lavender, and tangerine, to name a few. The makeup of the models complemented the clothes beautifully with the use of pastel-colored eyeshadow. To get this look, you can use the Trend Forecast Spring 18 eyeshadow palette. It has six shades namely, Minty Fresh, Zest Is Best, Silverquick!, Corally, Asparagus tip, and Crimson Spring.
