How to Create the Perfect Day to Night Wardrobe

If you’ve ever tried to declutter your closet or attempted to create a capsule wardrobe, you will know that it’s hard. You will see purchases from before how what’s on-trend can be irresistible, even if it doesn’t last long. You ask yourself why you had certain phases with one style that didn’t flatter you really. But all hope is not lost. As a new season unfolds on the Manila Fashion Festival runway, Day 2 designers gave us an idea on what to invest on, pieces that will see us through several outfits, and even one-off creations for those very special occassions.

#1  A versatile dress

Combining a flirty silhouette with a classic fabric, this dress by Chris Diaz offers several possibilities. It’s appropriate for work with a blazer and leather slides or with a white shirt underneath. Worn on its own and with the right accessories, says hoop earrings, and a colored pair of heels, this can be night-out ready too. See Chris Diaz’s full collection here.

#2 Something for a cocktail party

It’s not uncommon that your friend will celebrate a birthday at a bar or you get invited for a night out of dancing. For this, you can try the LWD like this one from Daryl Maat. With the different cuts and textures, it’s an interesting piece while the color makes it easy to complement your latest clutch. See Daryl Maat’s full collection here.

#3 An ensemble that’s travel friendly

If you need a work look that’s fresh and can also appropriate for your travel OOTD, I think this outfit from Harvic Dominguez is a good bet. The pink shirt and pants will easily match up to your existing favorites. While the coat is easy to throw on especially if you’re booking that vacation to a colder climate. See Harvic Dominguez’s full collection here.

#4 A look for that big ball you’re invited to

When the invitation says “Strictly Formal,” this Jinggay Serag piece has all the right elements and a little bit more. Butterfly sleeves meet a ruffled skirt for both a formal and edgy look. See Jinggay Serag’s full collection here.

#5 A loud bomber jacket

A statement bomber jacket, like this one from Naoki, is an easy way to dress up your white shirt and jeans, or to add a pop to your all-black look. It’s never going out of style so it’s wise to wear one which stands out but can easily be tempered with your everyday sneakers. See Naoki’s full collection here.

#6 Something in millennial pink

Rica Rico proves that millennial pink isn’t going to be just a passing trend. We need to remember that even before the term came about, the color was always a staple for when you wanted a girly look. It is also an apt choice when you can’t do bright colors but still want to add a twist to your outfit. See Rica Rico’s full collection here.

#7 A casual look

I like how this KC Pusing ensemble works for those instances when you don’t really know what to wear. It looks put together for a casual meet-up but it’s also not too much when simply running errands in the city. See KC Pusing’s full collection here.

#8 A printed panstuit

There are several ways this Yong Davalos printed pantsuit can see you through: It’s a no-brainer option for semi-formal events, for when you need to impress during a presentation. You can also wear the elements separately, for either a print on print look but also to just upgrade your usual fare. See Yong Davalos’ full collection here.
