When you were a kid, do you remember seeing toys or dolls of inspiring women and role models? Probably not, right? Well, Barbie is trying to change for that for kids of this generation. In time for International Women’s Day, they will be releasing a new line of dolls as part of their Shero program.
These dolls will include modern day women like Bindi Irwin, boxing champion Nicola Adams, and world renowned chef Hélène Darroze.
Aside from these modern-day women, Barbie will release three dolls of “impactful women from history.” They are: Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, and Katherine Johnson.
SVP and GM of Barbie Lisa McKnight said in a statement, “Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie, and we are thrilled to shine a light on real-life role models to remind them that they can be anything.”
In honor of #InternationalWomensDay, we are committed to shining a light on empowering female role models past and present in an effort to inspire more girls.

You might not play with dolls anymore but maybe you have cousins and nieces who would love to get one of these dolls for International Women’s Day.
