During the Lenten season, people often opt for non-meat dishes because of the tradition of fasting. Many would rather cook at home since food establishments might be closed. Luckily though, there are still restaurants that will be open and they also serve Holy Week-appropriate specials. So if you’re looking for somewhere to eat during the break, here’s a quick list for you.

8Cuts Burgers

A post shared by 8Cuts Burgers (@8cutsburgers) on Feb 28, 2018 at 4:47am PST

8Cuts brought back their Softshell Crab ‘Wich in partnership with Ooma. It’s made with beer-battered softshell crab with mango salsa, unagi sauce, mozzarella, aligue mayo, and crispy salmon skin between two buns. That already sounds like a full meal, doesn’t it? This is also available until March 31, which is already next week so don’t miss your chance! For their opening hours, go check their Instagram page. Located at Greenbelt 1, Ayala Center, Makati City.

McDonald’s

Fish & Fries has been in McDonald’s menu for a few weeks now, but if you remember in the past, they only bring this back during the Lenten season. If you want something that’s fast and easy to find wherever you are, take a break from the fried chicken and go for this one.

Max’s Group

Some restaurants under Max’s Group have come out with Lenten specials. If you want a fish meal, order Pancake House’s fish fillet or Dencio’s fried tilapia. For veggies, Max’s has spicy ginataang kangkong and ensalada.

Uma Uma

Uma Uma in S Maison has three Lent-friendly dishes. There are two rice bowls—Spicy Tuna Don and Spicy Salmon Don—and a vegetarian ramen. So you’re satiating your craving for Japanese food and you’re not breaking any fasting rules. Located at 2/F S Maison, Coral Way, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

Recovery Food

Recovery Food introduced four Lenten specials last month. First is Picadilis, which is fried rice with dilis, tomato, onions, topped with a fried egg. Another fried rice dish is Bang Chow which is made with flaked bangus skin. For a heartier meal, there’s Malunggo, which is monggo, malunggay, and tomatoes with rice. Lastly, there’s the Saridgetti, a pasta dish with chickpeas, sardines, and tomatoes. Located at Bonifacio Stopover, 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

Pepper Lunch

Pepper Lunch already serves fish meals so for Lent, they decided to create two affordable deals. The first is you can avail of a Salmon Pepper Rice with free soup for only P275. The other one is a Teriyaki Double Salmon meal with soup and extra rice for P395. These will be available until March 31! Located at LG/F Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Drive, Makati City.

Mang Inasal

Mang Inasal is open for the whole of Holy Week so might as well try their bangus sisig. It’s only P99 for a single serving with rice.

Aristocrat

There’s no shortage of seafood specials at Artisocrat. You have steamed fish, seafood kare-kare, and sweet and sour fish. A dish for every palate and craving! Located at 432 San Andres Street, Malate, Manila City.

Mexicali

This is how you make vegetarian Mexican food. Mexicali came up with the Chili con Soyrizo with a side of nachos and the Baja Fish Burrito. Doesn’t that sound as appetizing as the regular taco or burrito? Located at 2/F Glorietta 2, Ayala Center, Makati City.
