After being sober for six years, Demi Lovato has revealed that she has relapsed. She broke the news to her friends, family, and fans the only way she knows how: through a new song. On Twitter she shared a link to the song entitled “Sober,” with the caption “My truth.”

In the single, she talks about relying on substances again because she feels lonely. She also apologizes to her parents, “Momma I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor.” Demi also addressed her fans, “I’m sorry for the fans I lost, who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.”

After opening up in her new song, netizens showed their love and support.

We all fall off the wagon. But if you jump up real quick and run as fast as you can, you can catch right up to it and Get. Back. On. God bless and be well. Xo

Others are also encouraging her to stay strong.

We love you so much Demi is lovatics will never leave your side you are so strong

Demi hasn’t released any other statement since but we hope she does stay strong during this difficult time.
