Whether you’re shopping online or in-store, you might notice that not only are ’90s trends back but so are the cartoons. Many makeup brands have released products inspired by your favorite characters but fashion labels are doing it too. Believe it or not, there are even full collections dedicated to your childhood complete with accessories. Add some youth back into your wardrobe, it will definitely bring back some good memories.
Penshoppe x Hello Kitty
Hello Kitty is really popular in the Philippines so it makes sense that Penshoppe released a collection with the brand. The pieces include shirts, sweaters, hats, and jogging pants. Go all-out with a head-to-toe Hello Kitty look or just accessorize with a cute denim hat. Available at Alabang Town Center.
Uniqlo Kaws x Sesame Street
Uniqlo’s UT collections are always filled with nostalgia. In the past they’ve collaborated with Disney and Marvel but their latest one is pretty special. They teamed up once again with artist Kaws to bring us a Sesame Street collection. You will spot characters like Cookie Monster, Elmo, and the Count on t-shirts. Available at Bonifacio High Street.
Oxygen x Nickelodeon
Gone are the days of Saturday morning cartoons but we can reminisce. If Nickelodeon was your channel of choice, check out Oxygen’s collection. The clothes are mainly inspired by Hey, Arnold and Rugrats. There are belt bags, shirts, pouches, and even a Reptar sweater. Available at Glorietta 3.
Opening Ceremony x Disney
Last March, Opening Ceremony held their Disney-themed runway show at Disneyland. A few months later and the collection is still available online. Mickey Mouse is printed all over tops and bottoms. One piece that stood out is this sweater dress with a bow detail. It reminds me of something I would have worn as a kid but with a grown up twist. Available online.
Maria Escotè x Powerpuff Girls
Growing up, The Powerpuff Girls was one of my favorite shows so this collection is pretty exciting. Designer Maria Escote was able to capture the playfulness of the characters with her pieces. There are checkerboard print dresses with the characters on them and a T shirt dress with the villains. Available online.
Moschino x My Little Pony
Moschino is known for their colorful designs so a My Little Pony collection makes sense for the brand. This top in particular has a cropped hem and pastel colors. There is even some added sparkle, making it even more eye-catching. Available on Farfetch,
Bonus: Bershka MTV Music Television Sweatshirt
This isn’t a collection but this sweater brings back memories. It comes in a deep violet color with an MTV logo printed on the front. Put this on and dance around your room listening to your favorite music or even a throwback playlist. Available at SM Aura Premier.
