On Instagram, Michael shared that Kris wore a “couture calado-inspired fully embroidered gown.” Calado means open-work design and it’s common in embroidery. Based on the details of the bodice and the cape, Michael made sure that you can see the intricate shapes and swirls on the gown.
It’s also evident that Kris wanted to wear yellow on-set, as well as the red carpet, to symbolize the Aquinos’ association with it. Ninoy Aquino, former presidents Corazon Aquino and Noynoy Aquino have widely used the shade in their political campaigns.
