K-Pop fans are probably screaming right now because of BTS’ new music video. They collaborated with Steve Aoki for their first English song called “Waste It On Me.” However members of BTS are nowhere to be found. Instead, they had an all-Asian cast of actors you might recognize.
Spotted lip syncing the track were Ross Butler, Crazy Rich Asians’ Ken Jeong and Jimmy O. Yang, model Devon Aoki, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Vincent Rodriguez III, and The Gifted’s Jamie Chung among many others. Why did they decide to have an all-Asian cast? Steve told People, “It’s bigger than music and we hope to show other Asians they are also part of the global commercial musical landscape. I feel so deeply about the Asian footprint in the music culture that I wanted the music video to have an entirely Asian cast and director.”
Watch the video above and see if you can spot any other Asian celebrities.
