Meeting people online, whether they’re friends or potential partners, is fun…until they get abusive. A woman recently shared screenshots of messages from a guy she rejected on Tinder. Let’s just say they were gross.
In a tweet, Julia (@gothhunny) said that she’d turned him down six times and had told him to stop messaging her. The guy (whose Instagram account is deleted) clearly stated that he won’t accept a simple “no,” calling it a “lack of [rationale].” He also said, “You have no reason to say no. You are ON A DATING SITE.”
There were a lot of things he said but that last one mentioned struck a nerve. Just because someone’s on a dating site and actively seeking partners, it doesn’t mean they’ll say “yes” to EVERYONE they encounter. This woman swiped left on him, then he searched for her on Instagram to try to persuade her. When he was told “no” again, he couldn’t accept it and insisted that he’s more manly than whoever the woman is dating.
Tell us, who has the problem here?
Some men feel so entitled to have their advances reciprocated that they’ll do anything to get a woman—even resorting to harassment. This is the same problem with the members of PUA Academy who do this sh*t in broad daylight. Then they treat women as mere “scores” on their body count.
Women are not toys that’ll follow your every whim—regardless if you know them personally or not. Moreover, we don’t anyone an explanation if we’re not interested in dating someone. And no, most of the time, it’s not because we have a boyfriend. Grow up and take rejection like a decent adult who knows what consent means.
