You may not notice it, but gifting makeup will bring a smile to anyone’s face. Whether they’re beauty junkies or not into doing their own glam just yet, they’ll appreciate the products they can use on a regular basis. If you’re still stuck on gift ideas, you can turn to the beauty section. But don’t just purchase the first thing you pick up, you also have to take into consideration their skin tone.
We’ve mentioned time and time again on Preen.ph the importance of matching and/or complementing colors with one’s skin tone. So refer to the list below and start scouring the aisles.
Ellana Cosmetics Loose Mineral Concealer and Foundation in Cheer
Ellana has various Loose Mineral Concealer and Foundation shades for all skin tones that women can utilize. Cheer, for example, is described as “light with cool tones” and goes well with any skin type. This powder promises to cover redness, dark spots, and those pesky under eye circles. This is also perfect for the friend who only patronizes cruelty-free brands. Available at SM Makati.
Gesgep Lip Fresco in Delightful
Delightful is a soft pink shade that would look nice on people with fairer complexions. It has a lightweight and creamy formula, and claims to be no-budge no matter what. Available at Freyja.
Happy Skin Easy Glam Multi-Use Mousse Makeup in Coral
This latest product from Happy Skin is coming this December and already, this mousse compact that can be used as a blush, lip color, and eyeshadow caught our attention. Coral is the perfect shade of reddish pink that’ll stand out in medium skin tone. Plus, based on the size, we don’t think this’ll run out quickly (unless they use it A LOT, of course.) Available at Happy Skin stores starting December.
Smashbox Always Sharp Lip Liner in Sienna
A mid-tone brown lip liner is a good middle ground for someone who’s into neutral shades but also wants to experiment with dark colors. Sienna will give that balance of color on its own or while paired with a lipstick of a similar shade. The best part is that your loved one won’t have to worry about sharpening this all the time as it’s retractable and always sharp. Available at Beauty Bar.
MAC x Patrick Starrr Oh Holy Eyes Eye Shadow
Beauty vlogger Patrick Starrr recently unveiled his fifth and final MAC collaboration, which is another holiday collection. One eyeshadow palette named Oh Holy Eyes has brown and smokey shades that’ll suit dark-skinned ladies. It’s also versatile since it can be worn from day to night. Available at select MAC stores starting Dec. 6.
Wet N’ Wild Color Icon Baked Blush in Hummingbird Hype
If you want your loved one to experiment with color, give them an orange blush. This color is actually recommended for dark skin tones as it gives that sort of sunkissed flush. This one from Wet N’ Wild is known for boosting the skin’s glow and giving the cheeks natural-looking color. Available at Beauty MNL.
Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette
Beauty vlogger Nyma Tang, who’s known for her beautiful deep dark skin, is known for experimenting with eyeshadow colors. She even made a video teaching her subscribers with similar skin tones how to make the color pop. That said, don’t hesitate to give them an eyeshadow palette that has hints of pink and red in it like the Naked Cherry palette. Available on Sephora PH.
Jouer Powder Highlighter in Rose Gold
Voguenoted that rose gold highlighter goes well with deep dark skin because the color stands out while giving you that glow. But some people might not want an intense glow so give them a product that can be subtle and easily buildable when needed. Available online.
