Analyzing Kevin Spacey’s creepy “Frank Underwood” video

With a completely unexpected post, Kevin Spacey managed to put a dark veil on the holidays. On Dec. 24, the actor resurfaced through a video he posted on Twitter and YouTube. And it is creepy AF.

His post came out just as new sexual assault charges were announced. He is set to appear in court on Jan. 7 for his arraignment over the incident which allegedly occurred in 2016. The accusation was first made public last year by former television news presenter Heather Unruh who claimed that the actor tried to get her then-underage son drunk and then groped him.

This is among various other allegations which have since emerged after actor Anthony Rapp first accused Kevin of making a sexual advance on him when he was just 14 years old. According to The Daily Mail, “In all, more than 30 men have said they were victims of unwanted sexual advances by him. While no formal charges have, until now, been filed, police in Los Angeles and London are investigating allegations of sexual assault, including rape. In the UK, there are six active investigations.”

These have led to the downfall of the formerly acclaimed actor’s career. Following the string of controversies, he had been axed from several projects, including including his leading role from the Netflix series House of Cards which he played for five seasons and has earned him several awards.

Last October, when allegations first emerged, Kevin said in a statement, “I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behaviour.” It seems he’s done with all that and now turns to a more questionable approach.

In the short clip he released, aptly titled “Let Me Be Frank,” he reprised his role as Frank Underwood, the power-hungry politician who has no problem with resorting to murder to achieve his dream of claiming the US Presidency. Echoing his character’s trademark performance, he breaks the fourth wall and delivers his monologue, speaking directly to viewers. Only this time, he addresses his own controversies. “They’re just dying to have me declare that everything said is true and that I got what I deserved,” he said. “Of course, some believed everything and have just been waiting with bated breath to hear me confess it all.” He continued to deny the charges against him. “You wouldn’t believe the worst without evidence, would you? You wouldn’t rush to judgments without facts, would you? No, not you, you are smarter than that.” This, to me, feels like a challenge to the viewers. He is playing mind games, and obviously believes he is smarter than all of us.

“If I didn’t pay the price for the things we both know I did do, I’m certainly not going to pay the price for the things I didn’t do,” he says further. This is an obvious reference to how he wasn’t prosecuted for most of the allegations simply because the statute of limitations has run out on them. A ballsy statement considering he technically confirmed the past accusations. He adds, in a defiant tone, “They’re going to say I’m being disrespectful, not playing by the rules. Like I ever played by anyone’s rules before. I never did. And you loved it.” If you recall, he stated in his previous non-apology that he doesn’t remember Anthony Rapp’s accusation, owing it to “drunken behavior” and then proceeding to come out as gay to derail the conversation.

As his older brother Randy claimed, Kevin “was always an arrogant prick.” Now, we can’t help but get behind this statement. The guy reeks of entitlement. “My confidence grows each day that soon enough you will know the full truth. We’re not done, no matter what anyone says,” he says in the video. As if he still has the call after everything; as if he still has the upper hand despite what others might think, and that all of this is just a game. Clearly, the man is deluded.

Daily Mail notes, “Until now, Spacey—who last posted a message online in October last year—had all but disappeared not only from social media but from the real world. The last-known pictures of him were snapped as he jogged in the grounds of a £25,000-a-month rehab facility last year where he was receiving treatment for sex addiction on a 45-day ‘detox’. Sources say he checked out after only 21 days.”

I’m sure none of the men who were kids at the time of their sexual assaults appreciate @KevinSpacey ‘s weird video. No. Just No.

Is Kevin Spacey using Donald Trump’s legal team now?

Kevin spacey has apparently lost his mind what an absurd video..this is only the beginning. There are many more victims.. Epstein’s island ..anyone ? What people don’t get is …that the truth will rise to the top. All Lying Bad guys may finish last ,but they’re finished.

This “sudden” move, thus, was a big surprise to many. It stirred reactions from Netizens and fellow actors. But I’m sure that’s exactly what he wanted. According to Daily Mail, “At least one former associate claims to have been phoned by Spacey, describing him as ‘genuinely baffled that everyone has turned their backs on him’ and ‘indignant’ at having been deserted.” The outlet also stated that he has plans on reclaiming his lost stature in society: “It begins with them starting to talk positively about Spacey in public and, then, he would accept a cameo role in a respectable film.” Moreover, there reportedly exists a website called supportkevinspacey.com from unknown creators which invites fans “to leave supportive messages, some of which have come from people who claim the actor is a victim of homophobia.”

Um, we don’t think so. Kevin is just another powerful man who has fallen from his pedestal and thinks his privileged ass will easily let him claim back his position as a respected member of the society. That might have worked in the previous years, but not anymore. Obviously, he has trouble accepting that. Maybe—hopefully— his upcoming trial will give him the cold, harsh wake-up call he deserves.
