How many of you wear high-waisted pants on a regular basis? I don’t even remember the last time I owned a pair of jeans or trousers that weren’t—save for one pair of white cargo pants. I think that there’s something about high-waisted bottoms that make every outfit look good. It also makes wearing cropped tops more comfortable for people who don’t want to show off too much skin. Despite everyone’s love for this cut, there’s one trend from the early 2000’s that’s making a comeback: low-rise. Ah, yes, low-rise bottoms are starting to come back and I’m not sure how I feel about it.
I’m sure you remember seeing your favorite celebrities rock this trend all the time. Paris Hilton was one of them and she wore low-rise jeans with tops that resembled half of a bikini.
Christina Aguilera wasn’t a stranger to this trend either. Here she is at one of her concerts performing in a matching red set.

And, before Destiny’s Child broke up, they wore low to mid-rise bottoms on the red carpet. Here we see a variety of options from pants to shorts, and skirts.
Now that high-waisted bottoms are having their moment, designers want to bring back the vibe of the 2000’s. Just recently, Jennifer Lopez was spotted in a pair of Natasha Zinko pants. They even had the added detail of an exposed thong.
New York-based brand Linder released a series of low-rise bottoms in one of their collections. These ranged from jeans to sweatpants, and even leggings. Even on Net-a-Porter we can see labels like Versace, Saint Laurent, and Loewe joining in.

Along with all that evidence, fast fashion brands like Zara and H&M have released their own versions of low-rise bottoms. Have you gone shopping and spotted any? Let us know in the comments section what you think of low-rise becoming a trend again.
