Women’s March 2019 posters we should live by

Womens March posters

Another year, another Women’s March. On Jan. 19, people gathered in Washington D.C. and other cities in the US for the #WomensWave. “The 2018 Women’s March inspired hundreds of women to run, millions to vote, and dozens to win elected office.” However, for the people who don’t live in the US, seeing the march and posters of those who gather also inspire us. It’s a reminder to keep moving forward for equality and women’s issues.

We rounded up some of our posters to give you a glimpse of what went down.

The Marie Kondo effect

Like Marie Kondo said, we have to ask if something sparks joy. If not, it’s time to get rid of it. In terms of Pres. Trump, I think we can all agree on how we feel about him.

Sisterhood

A lot of people hate on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez but she has sisters standing up for her. Like this woman who wore red lipstick and hoops, similar to what congresswoman Alexandria wore to her swearing-in ceremony. Because, yes, she’s allowed to express herself.

Predicting the future

It’s also a joy to see young girls participate in the Women’s March. This one poster in particular caught my attention. We will definitely support her when she runs for president one day.

Vocabulary lesson

We’re so over society using derogatory words to bring women down. In case you needed a quick lesson, calling women “sluts” and “bitches” is never okay. And make sure you’re using “friend zone” correctly too.

A reminder

Ladies, in case you needed an extra boost today, here’s a reminder that we are all worthy. Of what, exactly? Equality, respect, and all the good things in life.

Resist

This poster is simple but it definitely gets a strong message across. We don’t need sexism and bigotry in the world.

The Star Wars inspo

Just like last year, there were a few Princess Leia-themed posters. Don’t let other people tell you that you can’t fight for your rights.

Nice pun

We also spotted some puns, but this one takes the cake.

For people who still don’t get what feminism is all about, let this poster educate you.

Her words

When it comes to rape and other forms of sexual assault, people are always quick to blame the victim or question if it’s true. This poster reminds us that even if there aren’t any witnesses, we have to consider their stories.
