Anne Curtis speaks up against lowering the age of criminal liability

Earlier this week we got sad news about lowering the age of criminal liability from 15 to nine. Sen. Risa Hontiveros gave a statement about it but she’s not the only one speaking up.

On Twitter, Anne Curtis shared her feelings about the issue. She also explained, “At that age, they are still very much children. They still have a chance to change their ways if they happen to cause or get into any trouble instead of being sent to jail [and] sentenced as an adult.”

Anne’s response garnered a lot of retweets and replies as well. Some people agreed with her, reiterating that the government should switch their focus on other criminals.

While others disagreed and urged people to read the actual bill first before voicing their opinion.

Kudos to Anne for shedding light on this. We’re hoping to see others use their influence for good as well and to stop this from pushing through.
