Wanderland Festival is back! With “magic” as the theme, its seventh year promises to enchant goers with a night of great music. Now a two-day event, expect more bang for your buck, especially with their impressive lineup of local musicians.
Putting local acts in the spotlight, they’ve gathered the best of OPM today, including Sandwich, the most seasoned among list, who’s responsible for giving us anthems (and go-to karaoke songs) like “Sugod,” and “DVDX.” Then there’s 18-year-old Unique Salonga, the singer-songwriter who continues to surprise us with his genius. With Reese Lansangan’s distinct musical style, it’s no wonder the multi-hyphenate creative has gained such a large cult following. Fans of indie and folk, or those simply looking for some feels trip, should definitely see musician Clara Benin. At Wanderland, goers are also given the chance to catch indie-alternative rock band Autotelic play their hits—aka our summer soundtrack—live. Of course, we can’t forget about Dayaw. With their diverse selection of music ranging from worldbeat, jazz, and rock, the talented group could definitely leave audience wishing for an encore.
These homegrown artists prove that the local music scene is far from dying, and yes, at par with foreign musicians. Joining them at Wanderland are international acts such as Two Door Cinema Club, The Kooks, and Honne on March 9 to 10 at the Filinvest City Event Grounds, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
